First Family Pictures

We got our first family pictures taken today. The girl asked us what color background to use and we thought maybe black since Antonio was wearing white. Little did we know, you wouldn't be able to see AJ's hat very well and apparently it gives the illusion that Antonio doesn't have any hair.....Nice. Oh well, we'll take it as a lesson learned I guess.

Grandpa Duane was holding AJ because he was fussy. We couldn't really figure out why he was so grouchy until he passed out mid-cry in my dad's arms.

AJ's First Thanksgiving

From the day I found out that I was having a boy, everyone has told me "little boys just LOVE their mommies." Please see below as I demostrate just how inaccurate this statement is.....

By the look on his face, AJ's life must be horrible....

Visiting the Lab

Today I brought AJ to my office for the first time. My good friend and co-worker Julie and her son, Joey, met up with us. Joey is only 3 days younger than AJ. Hopefully they will be good friends when they are older.

Play Time

Every day we put AJ on his activity mat and he just stares at the octopus (we call it Mr. Squid) that hangs there looking at him. Well, I caught him smiling and laughing at it today and caught him on film.

Happy Halloween!!

I got AJ all dressed up in his little bear outfit to take him trick-or-treating at grandma and grandpa's house (aka: ring the doorbell and just sit on the doorstep looking cute since he can't eat candy with no teeth). I was taking a ton of pictures of him in his costume and as you can see, he finally lost his patience with me. Sorry AJ!!

Going to the pumpkin patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch at Lattin's Cider Mill in Olympia with our good friends the Rodriguezs' (yes, it's plural since they are two seperate families with the same last name). I have to admit, I didn't take many pictures because it was cold and wet and stinky from the farm animals.....sorry, I suck.

AJ Meets Some Great-Great Family

Today AJ got to meet his Great-Great Grandma Tahran and Great-Great Aunt LaVone (yes, 2 Greats).

AJ is one month old

I cannot believe AJ is already one month old! We had his pictures taken at Sears and they did a beautiful job. I'm asking everyone to please excuse his mullett - 4 days before these pictures were taken, AJ had the most beautiful full head of hair. I was giving him a bath and went to wash his head and ALL OF THE HAIR ON THE TOP OF HIS HEAD SLID OFF with the wash cloth!!! I started screaming and my mom came into the room and when she saw his head, she asked how hard I was scrubbing. FYI to child protective services, I used a baby wash cloth and just wiped his head very softly.

First Smile

AJ smiled today....for daddy of course. AJ and I were in the bathroom watching Antonio get ready for work and daddy started to sing to AJ and he just lit up. It was so amazing! I'm finding that when you are a parent, the littlest things are the most memorable.

Sleepy Boy

My kid can sleep anywhere. Here is a little collection of him sleeping.

09/08/09 - AJ is only 4 days old here. I love how he had his hand propping up his head just like a little man.

09/09/09 - Seeing AJ hold his daddy's thumb really puts into perspective how amazing life is. Looking at this picture, it's hard to believe that someday his hands will be as big as his dad's.

09/10/09 - Catching flies in Grandma's arms.

09/11/09 - Fell asleep in dad's hand but felt like someone was watching him. He gives this look a lot. We call it "shifty eye". It's like he thinks there's a party going on at all times and doesn't wanna miss it, so he cracks open an eye to see what he might be missing.

09/13/09 - Fell asleep in mom's lap with his little hands up. In every ultrasound, his fists were up like this protecting his little face.

09/15/09 - Sweet baby boy fell asleep swaddled in his swing.

09/16/09 - Here's AJ in his bassinet shielding his little eyes from the light.

09/30/09 - This is my favorite picture of him sleeping. He literally fell asleep while sitting up in my hand.
