AJ's First Birthday....Party

We decided to have AJ's first birthday a week early. Many of our friends were going to be out of town on his real birthday which falls on Labor Day. AJ really enjoyed his cake and made a huge mess. It was awesome!!

What a happy birthday boy!!

More interested in the Mickey candle than the cake

Took away the candle and it was all over

I think it's safe to say he likes the cake

What a messy boy!!

Birthday Boy!

Grandma took AJ on the morning of his party so that I could get everything all setup without any distractions. Here's a picture that my mom took of the grouchy birthday boy....Thankfully he had a nap before the party and was in a much better mood!

Lounging at the Pool

We haven't had too many hot days this summer, but we finally got a good one. AJ was having such a good time in the pool and as you can see, fell asleep in his little turtle raft. I guess the sun took too much out of him!

AJ's bff Nevaeh came over to play in the pool too. She's so beautiful!! (Love the thighs!)

Making Invitations

AJ is totally in love with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. As soon as Mickey strolls onto the TV, AJ gets a huge smile on his face. He'll watch an entire episode without losing interest. I know, I know....yes, my baby loves TV. I swore I would never be one of those moms, but he just loves it. I'll have to post a video of him - he could be crying hysterically and if he hears Mickey, all is good in the land of AJ.

Anyway, we've decided to have a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday party for him. I saw these invitation holders on a blog and fell in love with them. I made them myself -which took a little time, but wasn't too bad at all. The end result makes it worth hand-cutting each Mickey head. What do you think? Cute huh?!!?

Here's what they look like all put together....
